The Player of Games Audio Shortlisted for Galaxy Award

The shortlists for the 2011 Galaxy Awards have been announced today, and The Player of Games, read by Peter Kenny, has been nominated for the Audible.co.uk Best Audiobook Award.

This year's awards will be announced on 4th November. In the meantime, The Player of Games is available as an audio download from Audible.co.uk, Audible.com (for US-based listeners) and the iTunes store.

As mentioned last month, an audio download edition of Iain M Banks's much-loved Culture novel The Player of Games is out now.

One again, the narrator is Banks-regular Peter Kenny and the download is available via Audible.co.uk, Audible.com (for US-based listeners) and the iTunes store.

Consider Phlebas Audio Download Now Available

Last Thursday was the official publication date of a brand new, unabridged audiobook edition of Iain's first Culture novel, Consider Phlebas.

The narrator is Banks-regular Peter Kenny and the download is available via Audible.co.uk and the iTunes store.

And December 2nd is the official release date for the unabridged audio download edition of The Player of Games, once again narrated by the multi-talented Peter Kenny and available from Audible.co.uk and iTunes. Details will be posted on (or around) publication day.

Transition Podcast #11 on iTunes Top 20

The free iTunes podcast of Transition is currently sitting pretty at number #11 in the UK iTunes store Top Podcasts list:

To access the free podcast episodes, you'll need to download and install the iTunes software. The podcast files (three episodes are available so far) should then be free to access, although you'll need to sign up to the iTunes store in order to leave a rating.

Don't forget to subscribe to the channel as well - let's get Transition into the top ten!

N.B. The US / Canadian iTunes store won't be carrying the podcast until the US / Canadian edition of Transition is published, on September 23rd.

Hachette Digital have confirmed that they'll be publishing the UK ebook edition of Transition in epub format, priced £17.61 and available from Waterstones.com and WHSmith.co.uk. More details when the relevant catalogue links go live.

The Wasp Factory on BBC Radio 4

Iain's debut novel The Wasp Factory, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, will feature on BBC Radio 4's A Good Read on Tuesday March 3rd at 4.30 p.m., repeated on Friday March 6th at 11.00 p.m.
